Earthy Styled Roanoke Wedding Inspiration
I was lucky enough to meet Cara of Cara Cait Creative at another shoot that I was part of – and when she told me about the stellar shoot that she had done just days before, I was totally enamored with it – particularly when I saw the photos of the epic headpiece that she created for the bride. Not only were the details in this shoot incredibly breathtaking, but the photography was beautiful. Here in Virginia, we’ve got some extraordinarily creative people – and when they come together to do things like this, incredible things can happen. This earthy styled Roanoke wedding inspiration features a gorgeous tattooed bride, a super amazing cake, and some of the most fantastic florals around.
From the florist:
“Our styled shoot derived from a beautiful girl, a beautiful place, and the beauty budding around us. Wanting to achieve something a little off the beaten path, I found inspiration in the vibrant colors of a friend’s beautiful body art and the blossoms that were budding on the trees. I had a need to fill a creative void that I had been feeling. As a florist, I’m often called to achieve the visions of others and not so much my own. For this photoshoot, I had the complete freedom to let loose and be free with total creative wild abandon. I allowed myself to be liberal in my selection of florals and to have a little faith in my own creative process. Having such a stunning canvas, and an immensely talented group of vendors, my wild idea for this “Lusting for Spring” shoot was completely realized.
This styled shoot speaks to a different crowd or perhaps, a bride that doesn’t color inside the lines. She loves art and the outdoors and isn’t afraid to take risks. This shoot took risks and absolutely colored outside the lines a bit. Realizing that this “bride” is a little less traditional than most, I knew she’d be a bold statement remarking “BE YOURSELF ON YOUR WEDDING DAY”. None of us are exactly the same and therefore, our weddings aren’t all going to look exactly the same. Let’s celebrate the colors we have within and be a little different than the rest! Our venue is an old, residential farm house in Roanoke, Virginia, built in 1867. The yard surrounding the home boasts of it’s rich history in the branches of the magnolia trees and holly bushes. For such an edgy bride, the location was simple and eerily elegant in it’s vacant state.”
