Angela Proffitt: Creating Vivid Experiences Worldwide

Misty: Angela Proffitt is one of the leading wedding planners in our industry – from her fantastic work to her educational training of event professionals all over the world.  When Mike & I were launching ISO:ALT, we discussed how we were going to put a fun and unique spin on things – and we felt strongly that we wanted to encourage others in the industry to continue to cultivate their creativity.  How? By showing you how the most well-established wedding professionals still do it.  We give you… Angela Proffitt:

How you stay inspired and creative when you’re doing SO much amazing work?
I get all of my inspiration from each individual client/couple.  I can typically tell what style they like by looking at their Pinterest or visiting their home and observing their decor style.  I used a psychology methodology to identify how their brain is wired and communicate the messages based on what is important for them.  The types are:
Each wedding is unique by default of becoming inspired by using the lead of the client.  How they met, their interests, etc.
Following the same footprint for me, is SO boring.  I seem to attract clients that value the experience of being unique.  Now I love inspiration, but then how to put a spin on it and make it their own.
Mike: I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Angela a few times when she was in Virginia to talk to our ILEA Hampton Roads Chapter. She’s such a down to earth easy going yet completely driven and motivated person. It’s easy to be inspired by her. I want to take a minute to talk about her work and how amazing it must be to travel the world with your clients and working with so many amazing people.
Here is Tecara and Deangelo’s Wedding:
Their wedding was in Nashville, TN. Some of my favorite highlights are the huge glass table, the hanging cake, the gorgeous skylines in the portraits, Reuben Studdard, her dress and the amazing sweet heart table. I’m not going to use my words but instead use these amazing images taken by the Nashville Photography Group.
We wanted to show how Angela used the same venue in two completely different ways. The following images are examples of how the space can be bright and colorful and modern. I don’t want to spill the beans about the second look so scroll down to see.

Mike: This is the second example of how Angela used the Music Hall of Fame in a completely different way. The color palette is much more muted with champagnes and blush tones and the decor is much more classic.
We hope you guys enjoy looking through these amazing weddings and be sure to check out all of the amazing venders involved with both of these. (I’m kind of fan girling that I am featuring a wedding photographed by Joe Buissick).
